Materials

Warm Up (5 min.)
Simplify:
1. √(75)

2. √(48m4)

3. √(3)√(33)

Go over homework (page 730 #19 - 41 odds).

Content Objectives (1 min.)
Students will solve equations involving radicals.

Language Objectives (1 min.)
Students will take notes in their math journals concerning solving of radical equations.

Activities (35 min.)

Today we are going to solve equations with square roots in them. It is pretty easy, you must recognize that squaring a number and the square root are inverse operations. After that, just make sure you follow the rules that we already know.

Let's try examples 1-3 from page 732.
